How do I become a member of the Redfield Saddle Club?
Membership dues for the Redfield Saddle Club are $30.00 for a Family Membership or $20 for a Single Membership if paid before or on the date of our first Fun Show in May each year. You can become a member by applying and paying dues in person at the shows, or by sending a completed membership form and a check made payable to REDFIELD SADDLE CLUB and mailing them to PO. Box 92, Adel, Iowa 50003. Please note: In order to qualify for year-end awards, membership into the Redfield Saddle Club must be paid before the date of our first fun show in May. Membership after the first Fun Show in May still allows for reduced show entry fees.
In order to participate in the Junior Queen or Senior Queen Selection, membership must be paid on or before June 15th.
What are the benefits of being a member of the Redfield Saddle Club?
Membership provides reduced show entry fees at RSC sponsored shows, updates by email and eligibility for year-end awards and the Queen contests. Members ride in the Old Settler's Celebration parade in Redfield each year. The Redfield Saddle Club members get together for trail rides each year, some come for the day and some camp overnight. Each year we crown Junior and Senior Queens who represent the Redfield Saddle Club at the Iowa State Fair Cowgirl Queen Contest in August (see membership form for rules and details).
Where is the Redfield Saddle Club Horse Arena located?
Redfield Saddle Club shows are held at the RSC horse arena just south of the City of Redfield. First gravel road south turning east off Highway F 60. There is a sign at the turn.
What is the "Tall in the Saddle" contest?
The Redfield Saddle Club's "Tall in the Saddle" club recognizes those members who spend a lot of time in the saddle on their horses. This competition is open to all members and requires participants to keep track of their own time in the saddle (on the back of a live horse). The competition runs from April 1 through October 15 each year. Final results must be turned in before October 15th. For 2010, there have been some changes and additions to the age groups - check the current show bill for details.( NOTE: Your age is determined according to what it was on January 1st of the current year.)
Is there an early entry form for the Fun Shows?
Yes, there is an early entry form that is used for our Fun shows. This form allows participants to register without delays. For most of our Fun Shows the order of classes is the same. (Exceptions would be the Dallas County Fair Show and the last show.) Click here for a registration form.
